How Gratitude Drives Business Outcomes
The CEO of Campbell’s Soup wrote 30,000 thank you notes to his employees during his tenure and turned the company from a sinking ship to the best place to work.
It’s one of my favorite stories about how gratitude molds culture, and culture drives business outcomes.
I saw it firsthand when I worked in stewardship at Cincinnati Children’s. We created a process to have patients write handwritten thank you cards to donors. Donors were blown away by the personal touch. One gave another 7-figure gift as a response.
It’s amazing that something so simple can create such monumental waves of change.
